Famosissima canzone natalizia, fu composta dallo statunitense James Pierpont nel 1857. L'autore, figlio di un ministro e persona agiata, si occupò prima di caccia di balene poi si dedicò alla musica.

Jingle Bells non è una canzone cristiana o protestante ma semplicemente esprime le emozioni che si provano andando in slitta sulla neve.
